Get Active This Summer With A Luxury Holiday To Mozambique

by David Hughes

Mozambique is a state in Africa on the Indian Ocean coast. It has South Africa on one division, Tanzania on the north area and has other frontier with Malawi, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The country has over one thousand kilometers of shoreline, which makes it a big spot for scuba diving, fishing, sailing and beach actions. This is why Mozambique is a superb place for an energetic summer vacation this year.

There are many amazing locations to visit. To begin with, Bazaruti Archipelago is an island resort and has an undersea marine park for opulence vacations. Another place, Cahora Bassa dam is the second largest artificial lake in Africa and on the Zambezi River. You can also go to the Gorongosa National Park, the Quirimbas Archipelago and Quirimbas National Park to take in the thriving African bush and white sandy beaches. You can, here, see the superb wildlife that everybody talks about.

Ilha de Mozambique is a UNESCO World legacy place and was the old capital of the country when it was beneath Portuguese rule. Another admired holiday mark is Pemba which is in the north and since it is not visited much by outsiders, the locals go there for grand vacations.

Ponta d'Ouro is a terrific dive spot if you are engrossed in going diving, although it is better accessed from South Africa than from Mozambique. Another place to go is Tofo Beach which is a protected place for tourists on the shoreline east of Inhambane. It also has great diving spots. Another trendy beach spot is Vilanculos which is the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago. Finally, Lake Niassa has elegant white sandy beaches and clear water.

It is vital that you live fit when in Mozambique. Make certain that you obtain all y our vaccines before you depart your country. Make certain that you are vaccinated against all the basic ailments, like measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis since you could catch these on your vacation.

Also obtain protection against Malaria; it is extremely important when you are in Mozambique. If possible, carry your own mosquito net so you can be protected and carry an insect repellant on you all the time, making sure you are covered every time you go outside.

When you are eating outside, make sure that you don't eat anything that might have water in it, or that could have been made under unhygienic conditions. Also, don't drink the tap water or use any ice. While the south of the country is better developed, you should never drink any tap water in the northern side. On the southern side, especially the big cities, the water is safe to drink so you can lower your guard. Finally, HIV is very common so protect yourself by not having unprotected sex and making sure that you are on your guard when in a hospital or around needles. The incidence rate is about 1 in 6 in the country.

Mozambique is a superb place to go to for an energetic vacation as long as you are ready and can take care of your physical condition.
