I'm So Perfect for the Job Why Don't I Get Interviews?

Have you sent dozens of resumes without a callback? How about 100 or 200 resumes? If you have been applying for jobs without not a lot of success you are not alone, most job applicants complain about exactly the same thing.A lot of job submissions, a lot of resumes all with no jobs and not even interviews or phone calls. Let's learn how to use a little self promotion to get your next job.Sometimes you apply to that perfect job. You spotted a new job on the internet and you think this is a perfect match for you.You have the desire, the expertise and the experience. You are really prepared. You tailor your resume for each job position and you change your letter of introduction to match the job opening. You send your resume applying to a great job and you are one hundred percent sure you will get the job.You wait for that call and wait and wait. Nothing! No calls, no emails, just nothing. What is wrong? Have you ever asked yourself why don't people call you back? What is wrong here? Is there something wrong with you? or is there something wrong with them? Don't worry, it's not you.I've been on both sides of the job process and anytime I was hiring I received hundreds of resumes. You need a lot of time just to read all resumes.Hiring managers get hundreds of resumes and they don't have the time to call back or contact every single person. You have to use the basics of self promotion to land a great job.How do hiring managers go through resumes? Most likely they make 3 piles. One pile has the "No way" resumes, the other pile has the "Maybe" resumes and the good pile has the "Call back" resumes. Why is this so significant to you? It is because human resource departments can take a few seconds to decide if you make the cut.Human Resource departments might take 5 to 10 seconds to look at your resume and determine if you go to the A, B, or C pile of resumes. You have to write your resume thinking that your first sale is to make it to the "Call back" pile, not to actually get the job.The firs thing you need to do is make it to the call back pile, the second thing to do is use self promotion to get an interview. It is when you interview where you are at the final stages of self promotion and you try to get the job. Let's call this self promotion 101!You also have to play the numbers game. Don't think that just because you send one resume and job application you will immediately get one call back with a job offer.Or to send ten resumes and get all calls back. You have to send resumes and follow up with calls and in your call push for a face to face interview. What are the steps to a good job hire?
