Beijing - your next travel point!

by Patrick Yim

Planning your next trip? I have got a suggestion for you! Last year, I have stayed in Beijing for a month and I found it very interesting! I went there before the Olympic Game has started, so I could enjoy myself there without being affected by the large crowd.

I went to Beijing for an exchange program and stayed at one of the top university in China, the Tsinghua University. It is a large University with spectacular view and environment, many famous celebrities of China have studied there.

The weather there in summer is actually quite hot, but of course sunny days are good for travel! In winter, it snows and is freezing cold, so a summer trip there would be a better choice. Apart from studying on weekdays, whenever I had free time, I travelled around with my friends. Beijing is a very interesting city, it suits every type of travelers.

Of course, the Great Wall and the Forbidden City are the must go places. They are very grand and gorgeous! There are more than hundreds of historic sites in Beijing, and I hope to visit each of them in my lifetime!

If you are a shopaholic, shopping malls are everywhere in Beijing, and there are many not costly traditional Chinese souvenirs especially on 'Wangfujing Street', you can buy many things with a very cheap price!

Beijing is also for people who love eating! Roast duck is a must try in Beijing, they are very tasty! If you want to try the traditional food in Beijing, you can go to the little stalls on 'Wangfujing'. If you like to try new things, I would suggest you to try fried scorpion! They are very delicious!

'798 Artwork Zone' is a nice place for art-lovers. Artworks are everywhere in the zone and more than two to three days are needed for you to appreciate all the masterpieces there. They are all very lovely.

Beijing is just too interesting to be described in an article. So if you plan to travel, why not try Beijing? Beijing will never disappoint you!
