New Exciting Pacific Tiger Players to Watch when Play Starts in the FallAre you a big fan of University of the Pacific's men's basketball team in Stockton, California? Do you get excited at the thought of the Pacific Tigers basketball season beginning in the Fall of 2009? If so, here are some updates to the men's team that should quench your thirst until the
University of the PacificNeigborhood: University CampusStockton, CA?95211United States of America?season begins.First, the biggest news is the addition of college freshman Allen Huddleston who was one of the top three scorers in California high school basketball in 2008. CBS47 has some video of Huddleston as well as interview clips with him. A Pacific press release dated Nov. 12, 2008, indicated that Huddleston is from Merced, California, and that he averaged 24.5 points per game during his senior year in high school basketball. He looks to be a very exciting player and if he can score this well at the high school level then the odds are pretty good that he can also do the same at the college level. He becomes a threat because other teams may try to double-team him which would then cause other Pacific Tiger players to have open looks at the basket. The press release also mentioned three other new players for the 2009-2010 basketball season: Nyika Williams, Sterling Carter and Raymond Cody.Nyika Williams was named to the All-Conference First Team of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Sterling Carter averaged slightly more than 13 points a game in his final season and scored more than 50% from three-point land. Raymond Cody, a six-foot-five guard who shoots the three-pointer extremely well, could be a powerful outside threat. As for returning players, USA Today has reported that the men's team will lose five of the top scorers on the team, including four seniors who all shot the three-pointer well but have since graduated. This production will hopefully be picked up somewhat by Huddleston if he can quickly adapt to playing at the college level.University of the Pacific 2009-2010 Men's Basketball Team
