Is heat treatment effective for drywood termites?

My association wants to fumigate the whole community of condos with Vikane(toxic fumigant) for drywood termites. I am pregnant and have a baby so I am dead set against the toxins. I want to recommend heat treatment but is it as effective since Vikan is only a temporary fix. It is a tough fight.
