Jump into Some Volleyball Tips

by Bradley Dibbs

If you want to play volleyball better than what you are currently capable of then continue reading. You need to understand the rules and then work on jumping higher.

The best thing for any indoor player to do is to practice by playing beach volleyball. Have you ever wondered why California produces the best indoor players in America? It's because they practice in the sand all day long. 2 on 2 makes you develop every part of your game and will help you a ton.

I would never recommend that a beach volleyball player ever practice on a hard court because it doesn't work that way. The challenge comes from moving in the sand.

If you are able to move in sand with speed you will be that much faster when you move on a court for obvious reasons. Another great way to improve your game is by jumping out of sand.

When you try to jump in sand you will realize that it takes a lot of energy to do and once you get use to it you will be jumping very high on the court. You will get use to jumping with all your force and then on a hard court it will feel super easy.

There is a completely different form used when jumping out of sand. You can't broad jump like you do indoors and you will jump up instead of up and forward.

Once you learn to practice all parts of your game you will notice that windows of opportunities will open up to you. You may start playing a completely different position.

Plyometrics are a great way to improve your jumping ability in volleyball. You simply need to practice jumping just as you would any other part of your game to get better at it. Training with the right training programs to jump higher will add inches to your vertical.
