Laser Hair Restoration

by Jayna Davis

Hair loss is one of the most common problems suffered by many nowadays. This is common for people who are getting older but the young ones are not exempted at all. Due to the changing environment, younger people are now experiencing hair loss as well. Other causes of hair loss include, but not limited to, heredity, harsh hair products or misuse of it and poor hygiene practice.

There are many hair loss treatments available in the market today. There are creams that you can apply to your scalp, capsules and vitamins you can take, herbal solutions, hair transplant and laser hair restoration. You probably have watched the ads on TV regarding these treatments or have browsed them on the internet. So, with these solutions available today, what is special about laser hair restoration procedure? Why should you avail of it?

Laser treatment is one of the most effective methods to address hair loss today. Laser is now used not just for hair restoration but for treatment of other medical problems as well, mostly in dermatology. As an example, it is proven to be very effective in getting rid of scars. So, relative to hair loss, what is the advantage of undergoing laser treatment?

Laser treatment does not require invasive surgery. So, there is no tearing of the skin and the consequent scarring of skin tissue. Moreover, there is lesser complication or risk factor in laser treatment than the surgical treatment. Compared also to topical or oral solutions, laser does not require regular application of hair regrowth creams or taking daily dosage of capsules and vitamins which may have only minimal results at best. All you need is to do is allot some of your time and let the laser do its job.

Different kinds of laser hair loss treatment is available nowadays. Commonly, this non-surgical treatment is known as the low-level laser therapy or the LLLT. It can be administered by trained professionals using various means and devices in a medical clinic or beauty center. For best results, any of the available LLLT methods may be combined with hair nourishing products. Your doctor can give you the best recommendation as to which method is more suitable for you. Depending on your body's response to the treatment, results will vary from person to person.

LLLT does not cause wound or scarring to the skin tissue due to the use of a special type of laser that is applied to the affected scalp area at a low-level intensity, hence, its name. LLLT is also called phototherapy or light therapy. Laser is administered to the scalp using a special gadget or device. The low-level light stimulates the blood vessels and tissues, thereby promoting hair growth on the scalp which would likely result to normal hair growth or, at the very least, an improvement from the current hair loss state. Laser is definitely a good way to deal with hair loss.

There is an available at-home laser treatment gadget known as laser comb that can generate low-level laser to the scalp. This feature allows the laser to stimulate the scalp at the same time as you fix your hair. This is a handy alternative to the normal comb at home for those suffering from excessive hair loss. You can have this treatment at the comforts of your home since it uses the same principle as the LLLT in various clinics or beauty center.

Today, laser hair restoration is one of the latest methods available in the market. Quite a number of people have tried the procedure and have reportedly been happy with the results. I recommend, however, that you seek a doctor's advice prior to getting a laser treatment or buying the portable gadget in order to get optimum results within a shorter period. Your doctor may administer the laser hair restoration procedure and allow you to continue the treatment in your home using the laser comb. With laser hair restoration, hair loss days are over.
