You have to install the camera then install the software. Sounds easier then it is. In a lot of cases wireless routers were having a lot of trouble picking the camera up. These routers had been proved efficient with other technology. If you run into any questions, the manual will not help. It seems as if it was written for a different version of the camera. It tells you to change things and press buttons that do not even exists on this one. The camera also has a tendency to freeze up and detect way to much motion. Every few minutes your e-mail will be receiving information that something is going on at home. Most likely the case is a cloud moved overhead. The sensitivity is a little to much. A positive point to the emails is if your not receiving them you know the camera froze (again). In order to get it up and running again all you have to do is unplug it and plug it back in. That is simple enough, you will have it all figured out by the 20th time. A positive side to this camera is its price. For $100 you are getting a product that is close to commercial cameras. The picture is good and so is the sound quality. You have to have Active X controls to listen to the sound so make sure that it is installed. Once you hear it though you will surely be amazed. Overall this is a good camera if you are looking for something to watch over a home. It works especially good on the indoors because it won't pick up random movement. If you are not very technically inclined though you may want to find a different camera.
