Going to a Woodinville boot camp to attain fitness can be a smart move these days. This is especially so for people living in Washington State, though residency isn't a requirement to attend one. People today realize that their hectic lives may have caused them to get out of shape, and a boot camp training might just be the key to turning that condition around once and for all.

In order to dispel any confusion, this sort of boot camp shouldn't be confused with a military boot camp. Given how little experience many people have with the military these days, what they probably know of that sort of training course is a vision of the mean old drill instructor, screaming in the red face of some tremulous young private. He then exercises that private until he faints from exhaustion.

Fortunately for most people, a boot camp workouts wouldn't be like that, though certain of the instructors might be men or women who have had actual military experience training recruits at one of the service's boot camps. They'll help you attain and then maintain good fitness.

One item that people should know about when it comes to a fitness boot camp is that there are going to be certain things to be done prior to beginning the actual camp. Also, keep in mind that even though these aren't actually real boot camps -- in the military sense -- participants will be required to show up when they're supposed to and also be ready to put out some effort.

Because of the above requirements, those registering for boot camp might be assessed even before starting the program. Normally, they're asked to obtain a physical exam by a doctor in order to make sure no hidden medical conditions are present. After all, there'll be no small amount of physical exercise required over the course of the fitness camp.

Another pre-camp step which is taken is the filling out of a thorough questionnaire. Many times, comprehensive profiles are generated which are evaluated by exercise physiologist and other fitness professionals with the intent of designing the best practical individual fitness program while still remaining within the program's overall group exercise goals.

As with military boot camps, most fitness boot camps will proceed on the assumption that most folks have little or no fitness base upon which to rely. This is as true at a Woodinville boot camp as it would be at the Marine Corps' San Diego Recruit Depot boot camp. Starting everybody out with exercise that's hard but which can be done right off the bat has been shown to be far more successful than doing exercise that's too hard for current fitness levels.

A comforting thing to know about such camps is that all instructors will have as their first and last goals the health and well-being of the people placed in their charge. They're there to get a person into shape over a period of time. It should also be a comfort to know that significant fitness gains will show themselves in as little as two weeks of steady training.
