Can Tai Chi Improve My Sports Performance?

Can you improve your performance in your given sport by performing Tai Chi? A little history on Tai Chi will help answer that question. Tai Chi, or Tai Chi Chuan as it is often referred to, is an ancient art of moving meditation. Practicing Tai Chi can help you achieve sense calm, a sense
of power and a sense of balance in your life. As you practice of the art of Tai Chi you will learn about a power source just below your naval called the "Dan Tien". The "Dan Tien" is a prominent area of the body in Tai Chi. People are taught when the practice Tai Chi that all breath and movement has to go through the "Dan Tien". If you haven't figured it out by now the Dan Tien is the body's center of gravity. Having a strong center of gravity will improve performance in all sports. Having a strong center of gravity itself is not enough; you have to be able to use your strong center of gravity to your advantage. In Tai Chi you are taught to move through your "Dan Tien". Once a person has gained the ability to have their entire body's movements move through their "Dan Tien" their performance will automatically improve in some sports. Sports like golf, tennis, baseball, and racquet balls major movements all originate from your center of gravity.Practicing Tai Chi doesn't just improve your center of gravity it also improves your balance. I spend a lot of time around people in the physical fitness realm and it always amazes me how poor people's balance is. It doesn't matter what caused a person's balance to be thrown out of whack, Tai Chi will help them regain that balance. Having good balance will improve your performance in all sports. Can Tai Chi Improve My Sports Performance?
