Iron Girl Triathlon Event Held in Syracuse, N.Y.

The Iron Girl Triathlon was held this year in Syracuse, New York. The Iron Girl Triathlon has been in existence for a couple of years in different areas of the United States, however, this year was the first time the triathlon was held in the Northeast region of the United States. Many

The Iron Girl Triathlon was a success, attracting many women from the area to try out the physical and mental challenge of swimming, biking, and running. For many, the triathlon presents an opportunity for women to train and prepare for the physically strenuous and challenging race which awaits them. The feeling of overcoming the challenge of the triathlon at the end is an extremely rewarding and accomplished feeling for many. Many women who compete in triathlons vow to do them the next year to improve their athletic ability and therefore improve their time and placement in the triathlon. The Iron Girl Triathlon of 2009 was surely a success in the North East, enough of a success that it will be happening again next year in 2010. Many of the women competing in the triathlon this year will be showing up to next year's challenge. The Iron Girl Triathlon, just like any other triathlon, is composed of a swim, a bike ride, and a running race. This triathlon was located on the beautiful and picturesque Lake Oneida in Syracuse. The swim was done in the lake, followed by the run and the bike ride. The run and bike races were done around the perimeter of the lake. The distances for the Iron Girl Triathlon consisted of an 800 meter swim, followed by the bike race which was 18 miles in distance and followed up with the run around the lake which was about a 3 mile run. After the triathlon followed a beautiful celebratory buffet which included freebies and gifts from the race's sponsors. The refreshments and food for the hungry women who had just been under physical exertion were served in a beautiful manner alongside summer blooms and blossoms on the tables draped with linen.
