Is withdrawal from opiates as bad as they say?

I'm just coming off of oxycontin and percocets. So far I just feel really really depressed, want more pills, can't sleep, don't really want to be around anyone, and just feel really bizarre. Is this even withdrawal? If so what other fun things do I have to look forward to? Also is it as bad as heroin?
