bike did not rust before I got to Vegas. We arrived in Vegas at 12am, too bad we couldn't hit the tables, eh? OK, focus. Back to TRI mode. Saturday - 11am - 1pm We all got into Lake Mead for a short swim to get used to the waters and quell any anxiety over swimming. 2pm - Race packet pick up. 3pm - Check in at hotel. 4pm - Carb load at Bucca di Beppo. 8pm - Back at the hotel putting my race gear together for tomorrow. I was mentally going over everything that I needed. Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich - Check; Water bottle - Check; Sunblock - Check; Bike - Check; and etc. I was able to fall asleep at 10pm. Sunday - 4am. BUZZ .. BUZZ .. BUZZ. Three different alarms ringing to wake me up. Oh, the wonders of a cell phone. HELLO? I noticed that people will still gambling and coming back to their hotel from partying all night long. WOW, this MUST be VEGAS. 5:30am - Arrived at the transition site and put my bike up on the rack, only to notice that my bike plugs were missing. Damn. Coaches have warned us that we needed to make sure that the bike plugs needed to be in place, for safety reason, otherwise, we would not be able to race. Double damn. Running around trying to find bike plugs. My boyfriend running around trying to help me and ease my nerves. I hear my race number from the intercom, "Athlete (yes, I am an athlete), #323, please make sure you have bike plug on your handle bars." STRESS !!! Finally, we find someone who has electrical tape to just tape the ends up, so I am ready to go. Got my body marked, race number on my right arm, and age on my left calf. Be proud woman, just be PROUD !!Las Vegas Triathlon
