Quick Ways to Exercise: The Firm's Power Sculpt Workout and Total Body Time-Crunch

2 Great DVD's Incorporating WeightsExercise videos and DVD's have been my primary venues for working out for quite a long time. There are two main concerns I have, though, when choosing a new exercise DVD. First, I don't want an instructor, with an overly-enthusiastic group behind her, spending more time talking about
silly things than she does explaining the techniques of the exercises. Secondly, I am always on the lookout for a comprehensive workout that doesn't take a lot of time. I think many others are as well, particularly beginning and intermediate exercisers. The Firm has been my favorite resource since the 1990s. Two DVD's that have been released in the past few years that I particularly enjoy are The Firm Power Sculpt Workout and The Firm Total Body Time-Crunch. Since the inception of the Firm in 1979, the premise for their programs has been what they call "synergy training", which combines cardio with body sculpting. Different-sized weights are used for resistance exercises. The intensity varies, and they alternate, for example, lower and upper body movements. The Firm's promise is that, if a person exercises at least three times a week, eats nutritionally, and gets the proper amount of sleep, she will typically see results in ten weeks. I believe that's true. The addition of weights in any routine, of course, will increase muscle mass to some degree and rev up the metabolism. The instructors of the two short DVD's that I am reviewing provide a balance between weights and cardio. In addition, they are pleasant and give helpful tips.Quick Ways to Exercise: The Firm's Power Sculpt Workout and Total Body Time-Crunch
