A Self Workout Story

My freshman year I was a weak, pot bellied kid. I had low self esteem and was embarrassed of my husky physique. After going to the local swimming pool and feeling uncomfortable many times I decided enough was enough. It was then that I determined I
was going to get in shape and lose weight.I first started off by doing the basics, I ran every night, did push ups, and sit-ups. I wasn't seeing the results I wanted to see. After a little encouragement from my brother to keep at it, I continued my workouts. It was near fall and my schools wrestling program was starting, so I decided to go out and at least help my workout. Practice was 2 hours of grueling workout every night. After a week I had lost ten pounds. I wonder how this could be that I lost that much so quickly. I figured out that intense workouts for even short times made me lose more weight than long slow workouts. After wrestling season was over I was slimmer but not where I wanted to be. I tried several other techniques but no results. I went back to my routine, but with some added insight. I worked harder, trained longer, and pushed myself. I started eating more grains and vegetables instead of carbs. And I started enjoying my workout which made it a lot easier. Now that I have just stayed active and stuck with a plan to work hard and not give up, I'm slim, trim, and pretty built. It helps a lot to enjoy yourself, have fun getting into shape, and keep motivated.A Self Workout Story
