Stop Excessive Underarm Sweating Without Chemicals

by Mike Vangal

Excessive underarm sweating is a condition whereby a person sweats excessively in the armpits. For most sufferers of this condition, unpleasant odor is also experienced. I became extremely self conscious, and my self esteem slowly began to diminish.

In order to stop excessive underarm sweating, you must first understand the cause of the condition. In most cases it is passed down through your genes. The medical term used for this condition is axillary hyperhidrosis.

A lot of companies claim to be able to stop excessive underarm sweating, but most have horrible side effects. In the past I tried about every available treatment out there with little to no results.

These treatments contain chemicals such as formalin, glutaraldehyde, and aluminium that actually attempt to block pores so that sweat does not reach the skins surface. They all have bad side effects. On top of causing skin irritation in some instances, it needs to be applied over and over to achieve its effect.

Another treatment method is iontophoresis. It involves the patient immersing the affected part of the body into tap water, while mild electric shocks are sent through it. This treatment is not for everyone, including women who are pregnant, epileptics, and people with heart conditions. It also happens to have little to no effect on stopping excessive underarm sweating.

Botox injections, which is only approved for underarm sweating, is another option. In this treatment, botulinum toxin is injected into the arm pit to stop the release of acetylcholine. This treatment causes extreme pain and has limited effect. You will have to get repeat injections every six months, and will become very expensive over time.

The most extreme treatment to stop excessive underarm sweating is having surgery. It should only be used as a last resort. Two types of surgery exist. The first form is clipping, which involves putting a titanium clip across the sympathetic nerves to disrupt the nerve signals to the sweat glands. Another surgery involves cutting the nerves with scissors. Your body will compensate by sweating excessively in another area once your underarms no longer sweat. Internal bleeding and neck pain are the main side effects of surgery.

If you want to stop excessive underarm sweating with a simpler method, you might want to try a natural remedy method that I have personally used successfully. There are no side effects or pain caused by this method. If you want more information about my experience, follow the link below to find out more.
