Want To Lose Weight? Chew Your Food!

by John GilbertGrant

So many people are on a diet and looking for that miracle weight loss eating tip. Losing weight can be difficult, but if you are following a proper diet, decreasing your caloric intake and partaking in regular exercise you will be more apt to lose the weight that you desire.

Another important factor when devising your weight loss eating techniques is to remember to chew your food. Most people do not take the time to stop and think about this. They brush it off as secondary and do not realize just how essential this is.

Chewing your food with thought instead of swallowing it down when it gets small enough will help you to physically feel the sensations of being full. When you are full you should then stop eating. You do not have to clean your plate. It takes so much time for your stomach to feel this satisfaction just because it has not registered as quickly as you might be eating. If you eat fast you will not feel this until you are beyond what you should be in terms of caloric intake. This will, in turn, give you that overstuffed, bloated feeling. This is not helpful to your weight loss eating plan.

When you chew your food, you'll eat more slowly and you'll find that you enjoy your meals more. The extra time it takes to eat allows you to actually taste and enjoy every bite. You'll also be able to break down and absorb the nutrients from your food more efficiently due to the added time that your food spends in contact with your saliva.

The correct way to fully chew your food and put this new weight loss eating method into practice is to remember to chew your food approximately 35 times after you have taken a bite of it. Up until this point you most likely have only chewed your food about 10-12 times before swallowing. This is common. When you try chewing your food for this long the first time it will seem very odd and unnecessary. As time goes on, however, you will notice the difference that this weigh loss eating tip makes in terms of taste and satisfaction.

You'll notice that you can taste your food better and you're eating less because you're becoming full more readily. You should also make sure to drink water in small (but not large) amounts as you eat - drinking too much water with your meals actually decreases digestive efficiency.

When you're chewing your food properly you do more for yourself than simply make weight loss more efficient. The saliva your food is exposed to as you chew helps to eliminate any potentially harmful bacteria which may be present in your food.

Your saliva is also the first step in digesting your food. Your saliva has enzymes which begin the process of breaking down your food and helping your body to absorb the nutrients from your food. Chewing your food properly is a weight loss eating technique which is one of the more effective secrets to successful weight loss and achieving your ideal body weight and better health.
