then is that I was hungry a lot. At the beginning of this year, I became a vegetarian. I do eat dairy and eggs, but no meat. This didn't make me lose any weight at all, but my reasons for becoming a vegetarian were not for weight loss. Surprisingly, I actually gained a pound or two after becoming a vegetarian. That probably had something to do with the junk food I was eating.Last Tuesday was my first day at Weight Watchers. After telling them I am a vegetarian, they presented me with a really nice information sheet about how to make sure I am getting in all my necessary nutrition, vitamins and minerals. I was really impressed by this sheet. The weigh-in was a little traumatic since I go to an evening meeting and always weigh more in the evening than in the morning. Also, they won't let me remove all my clothes before weighing. Go figure. The Weight Watchers leader explained their new Momentum program and talked about "filling foods" that are supposed to keep me feeling satisfied longer. She also showed me a little graph on the food tracker where I can monitor my hunger level to make sure I'm not having cycles of being really hungry or really full.My first week on Weight Watchers was quite successful. This time, I noticed that I was never hungry. I made it a point to choose foods from the "filling foods" list as much as possible. Also, since I was eating no meat I had a hard time eating all the necessary points. This was good because it enabled me to have a little dessert here and there. Popcorn became my new best friend because it tastes great, is very filling and has a low point value.Weight Watchers as a Vegetarian
