Exercise Program Options - Pick the One Best for You

Exercising is a Must If You Intend on Living a Longer Healthy Fitness LifestyleThere is a huge market for the perfect exercise program. Just watch late night television or the shopping channel. Everyone's got a program with its own DVD. You can waste precious time and money buying these programs and then finding out that the method you're trying just isn't right for
you. Some programs like these are good and valuable, but you need one that has you, your needs and your schedule in mind. Do-It-Yourself exercise programs are a possibility. You design your own program, customizing it as you need it for your goals, schedule, and availability of exercise equipment and exercise facilities. Do your homework and research a variety of exercise books to find something that interests you.If you want to build your own workout program, you're going to have to listen to your body. If you don't work your self hard enough, you're not going to lose weight. Signs that you're not working as hard as your body needs are negative ones - no sweat, no feeling of muscle use or fatigue. If you're working your self too hard, you could injure yourself. Signs that you're working too hard include pain, a sense of burning in your muscles, shin splits and other warning signs that you're on the road to injury. When you're setting out on your own program, you need to find a way to include strength training and a cardio work out. You can get a good cardio workout on an outdoor jogging track, a stint on the treadmill or dancing along to a choreographed aerobic dance routine. Move into strength training through a specific exercise program that includes push-ups, crunches and the like. You can even work into light weight lifting or fixed weight exercise machines you find at many gyms. It's important to keep exercise programs interesting. Try something new. Tae Bo, for example, is a structured and choreographed program that gives you a complete aerobic workout. Some of the moves require equipment, but it's not necessary. Just the punch and kick routine is enough to really work up a sweat and wear you out. While the workout is substantial, the martial arts portion of the program is minimal.Exercise Program Options - Pick the One Best for You
