If you have a medical marijuana license, can you become a police officer?

I am 23 and have recently acquired a medical marijuana card for insomnia purposes. I have thought about joining a police force in CA, I am in Los Angeles. Am I allowed to with a Medical Card??
What I meant was, if I stopped smoking and let my card expire... could I join the force?
