It can affect your self esteem and even your happiness. There is, however, no need to worry, as recent research by Jerusalem's Hebrew University Medical Centre and Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School has shown that even people as old as 85 benefited from exercise! You can start your path to a healthier you by following some easy, short tips of mine.1. Start an exercise regimen. As shown above, it's never too late to start. According to Men's health, President Obama can find to exercise, so we should all be able to. Granted, we may not all be able to afford personal trainers or have that luxury, but that doesn't mean we can't stay in shape. It does not take much, perhaps 2 or 3 days a week, with 30 minutes of exercise being your starting point. As you progress, you can work out 4 or 5 days a week, with 45 minutes or an hour being your goal. Some great workout DVDS for this very goal are Power 90, a cardio and weightlifting instructional set, lead by personal trainer Tony Horton. They are easy to follow, challenging, but not too tough, and will lead to results if you stick to it. 2. Walk, instead of watching tv. Many Americans watch tv after dinner, after work, or as a social activity with their spouse. While TV can be entertaining, a 30 minute walk with your dog, children, or loved one can be a great way to get outside, interact with someone, and stay fit. If you feel self conscious about walking alone, try to find a walking partner in a neighbor, friend, or relative.Staying in Shape: Everyday Tips
