Subutex: Has anyone successfully left the program?

The only people we seem to come into contact is people still on the program! Some have tried but failed to jump off at various doses, & ATODS seem to think it is okay to stay on it indefinitely. But we are sick & tired of being tied to a 'replacement' addiction, financially & physically. Just need to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel & know that someone somewhere has done it successfully - & how they did it.
Please, serious answers only.
*well, hubby has been on it for 3yrs himself - has successfully dropped to .2mls, but is too scared to jump from there, & has heard horror stories that going even lower then jumping is even harder!
Wish he had never gone this route & just had withdrawl symtoms for a month or so. But we do want to know how long withdrawl will be if he jumps now. The clinic wants to keep him on it forever (no joke!) but we just can't afford for one, & yes, the 2 & 3 a week visits are tiring.
