Does ativan work for fear of planes?

I am deperately afraid to fly and have never actually done it before (to be more specific) I'm scared of heights. But now, my honeymoon is less than 3 weeks away. I have a prescription for Ativan but I tried it once and I felt a difference but I still felt anxious. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
