How can I repair my kitchen roof when neighbour has encroached?

I am wondering how I can repair my kitchen roof it is leaking and we need a new roof only trouble is the neighbours roof is overlapping ours and is attached to it they are quite aggressive and seem to do as they please but I am worried as our house seems to be bearing the load of their structure,any suggestions would be helpful thanks.
