What are the chemical equations to make methamphetamine?

I'm doing a paper on methamphetamine. I've found lots of material but not the actual chemical equations of what is being reduced, what are the products and reactants at each step, etc. I'm not interested in the actual making of it, just the chemistry behind it. Why is heet needed for example?
