What will happen if I chew/crush a 20mg oxycontin tablet?

I have had surgery on my shoulder and my doctor prescribed me oxycontin tablets to relive the pain. I heard so many stories about this drug and I'm curious to see its effects on me. Has anyone ever done this? Is this a death wish?
