How to repair the vinyl roof on my car??

The vinyl roof on my car is quite badly cracked. How can I repair this? I'm thinking I can fill in the cracks with something like a spot putty, then lightly sand and then paint the vinyl.

Is there "vinyl paint" or special materials like spot putty that are specifically used to repair/paint vinyl??

If anyone has any specific tips or tricks, or name brands of good quality materials, please HELP!!!
