I have just re connected with an old friend from school, she needed to use my computer so she has been coming around quite a bit within the last month or so.. She told me she was in quite a bit of debt, in between jobs and not comfortable with her living situation so i did the best i could to help her - offered to hlp her with a manageable budget, a couch to crash on if things got too tough at her place, some food etc ( i have a baby so i'm not in a financial position to support anyone else really)
ive noticed that in the last few weeks she's been working for this dodgy guy paid under the table, she hasn't been sleeping properly and alot of her text messages aren't making a lot of sense - she is saying strange things like her landlord is a peeping tom and he drills holes in the walls and looks at her when she's sleeping.
I pieced all these jumbled things together and i've just realised she is actually working at a brothel, not doing his taxes, and she is so in debt because she has a methamphetamine addiction, she has been lying to me this whole time and i feel really sorry for her but also really angry that she could expose me to this kind of world and these kind of people.
I have some of her stuff stored in my garage and i want to cut all ties with her - im just not in a position to offer my energy and support at this time as i have my own problems to deal with let alone taking on anyone elses. The only trouble is i know that she doesn't have any support from her family, all of her friends that she hangs around with are into the same thing and she is getting to the point where she just doesn't care what happens to her anymore. I just don't know what to do because i hate seeing her go down this path but i can't risk any kind of danger around my baby and if i continue to try and help her this is a ery real possibility
If anyone has any ideas on what to do, or they have been through this themselves i would love to hear it, im so lost and conflicted and i am completely stumped as to where to go from here. thanks
