Can kissing someone on ecstasy have any effect on you?

So i like this guy, and he was on ecstasy and drunk last night. We made out a lot and when i woke up my tongue ring was really sore and hurt. I don't think it could have been from making out because i have had more intense make out sessions with other people and my tongue ring has felt fine. Could the ecstasy have done something to make my tounge ring sore?
