Remodeling Basement...need lighting help!?

We are remodeling the basement in Spring. Just want some different ideas about the lighting problem. We want to get as much use out of the tiny windows by the ceiling. There is one patio door(our way in to the basement from outside) and 1-2 tiny windows in the large area. It's a small 70's log home so i would like to stay with the woodland theme but we are young and dont have tons of money. What is the best way to have "natural lighting"? We are planning on haveing a cedar wood ceiling and very light tan tiled floor. (hides dirt!) Walls are cement and not smooth. Dont know what to do with them besides paint with a sprayer to make them look spackled. Any suggestions?? Pros-Cons?
