Economy doesn't change perfect job ideals: study

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - The recession has scarcely affected U.S. workers' definition of their ideal job, with most saying their concept of the perfect post would be the same if the economy improves, according to a new study.
U.S. workers cite good pay, health insurance and opportunity for advancement as their top priorities in their ideal jobs, according to the Randstad Work Watch study conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs, to be released on Thursday.
Nearly two-thirds said in a perfect job, they would do the same work they are doing now, while one-fifth said they would choose a different job in the same field.
One in five U.S. workers said the ideal job would involve a completely different line of work.
The survey showed most workers "enjoy their jobs, regardless of the impact the economy has made on their jobs," Eric Buntin, managing director of operations for Randstad, said in a statement.
"It would be easy to peg the economy for a shift in the definition of the perfect job, but that doesn't seem to be the case," he said.
The survey showed 83 percent of workers would not alter their definition of a perfect job if the economy improves, and 17 percent would do so.
Asked what perks would be included in the perfect job, a whopping 81 percent said five weeks of vacation, 56 percent said free lunch and 40 percent said a lifetime gym membership.
Women were more likely than men to say in their ideal job that they would be doing the same work they are now, by a ratio of 42 to 35 percent, but men were more likely to wish they had a different job in the same field, 26 to 19 percent.
Three in 10 workers said in their perfect job, they would have more responsibility and 42 percent said the same amount as they do now. Six percent would want less responsibility.
The nationwide online survey included 1,008 adults interview from August 28 to September 1, 2009.

was dependent on percocet for a long time and have been clear for just about a year thanks to Suboxone and then switched to Subutex in August this year. I had to go for a hair follicle drug test last week and the results should be in within the next 24-48 hours. Will it show up as Subutex or will it show up as an Opiate? I have never once slipped and have been clean since starting treatment!!!!!!

Senators Ask Medicare To Stop Radiation Therapy Cuts
The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) applauds Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) and Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and 30 of their Senate colleagues for spearheading efforts to protect access to life-saving treatments for the nation's cancer patients by asking Medicare to stop proposed cuts to cancer care.
The bipartisan group of Senators today sent a letter to U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius protesting severe cuts proposed in the Medicare physician fee schedule for radiation oncology services. While the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) projects the overall impact of the payment reductions to be 19 percent, the rates for certain needed cancer services would be reduced by up to 44 percent. An ASTRO survey conducted in July said cuts of this scale would have a particularly devastating effect on community-based cancer centers and the patients they treat.
"We are concerned that these proposed cuts could force freestanding and community-based cancer centers to close their doors, limiting access to cancer care for our seniors, and particularly for those living in rural areas. We urge CMS to reconsider the proposed reductions in Medicare payment for radiation oncology services…" wrote the Senators. "We urge CMS to consider recalibrating specialty reimbursement to support primary care in a way that does not place a disproportionate burden on any one specialty provider group."
"Cancer patients, who are fighting day in and day out against their disease, already have enough to worry about without having to face additional expense and time to get important treatments. These Senators recognize that these cuts would limit access to care for cancer patients at a time when America is engaged in the essential effort to reform health care to improve access to care," said Patricia Eifel, M.D., FASTRO, a radiation oncologist at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Chairman of ASTRO. "Radiation oncologists and their patients greatly appreciate the commitment and leadership of Senators Lincoln, Burr and their colleagues to protect cancer care."
The Senate letter comes on the heels of a similar letter sent Aug. 17 to Secretary Sebelius by 63 Representatives, led by Reps. Lois Capps (D-Calif.), Sue Myrick (R-N.C.), Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) and Parker Griffith (D-Ala.). With the addition of the Senate effort, nearly 100 Members of Congress now have signed letters to HHS protesting the proposed cuts. ASTRO also supports Sen. Lincoln's amendment to the health reform plan being considered this week by the Senate Finance Committee to prevent the proposed equipment utilization rate increase from taking effect.
New technology and improved techniques have allowed radiation oncologists to dramatically improve how they target radiation to more effectively eliminate cancer cells while protecting healthy tissue. This has allowed radiation oncologists to improve cure rates while decreasing painful side effects, allowing patients to not only survive, but thrive after their cancer treatments.
ASTRO submitted official comments last month asking CMS to stop its proposed changes to the Medicare payment rates for physician services, including radiation oncology. Specifically, ASTRO wrote CMS urging it to withdraw its proposal to increase the equipment utilization rate for radiation therapy. ASTRO also asked CMS to delay implementation of new physician practice information survey data pending a review of the information and a response to ASTRO's concerns.
The extreme cuts are due in part to CMS increasing the utilization rate for equipment costing more than $1 million from 50 to 90 percent. By increasing the utilization rate, the payment for each service is reduced significantly. CMS did not reference any actual data for radiation therapy equipment in proposing to increase the rate to 90 percent, basing its proposed change on expanding a Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) recommendation focused on diagnostic imaging equipment. In its Aug. 31 official comments on Medicare's proposal (available at www.medpac.gov), MedPAC said it "did not contemplate" applying its recommendation to increase the equipment utilization rate to radiation therapy machines.
"Congress has made its will very clear on this issue," Laura I. Thevenot, ASTRO's CEO said. "We are hopeful that Congress' wishes, MedPAC's comments, actual equipment utilization data, identified problems with the new practice expense survey data, and details on the severity of the impact will all lead to a positive outcome for cancer patients and their caregivers."

Soft and warm colors
Pay attention to the natural colors found in the countryside and traditional cottage garden as you select colors for your kitchen. Subtle shades such as a faded blue, pale yellow, rose, and lavender work well in an English country styled room. Warm tones are typically used in the kitchen. Go for a relaxed look with creamy walls or a warm earthen feel with a light red.
Wood cabinetry and countertops
Wood is the main material used in construction of kitchen cabinets and countertops. Cabinets should be simple and sturdy with plain or paneled doors. What will it be? The entire team, and you, can live, or you can die. Whether or not you live depends upon what you'll do and the decision to make during the game. Your decisions will shape your outcome. If you do happen to have your character die in Mass Effect 2, though, you'll still be able to play him in Mass Effect 3.

Companies as disparate as coal developers and animal feed firms are developing renewable or clean energy, with the aim of powering business in Kentucky in the future.The Governor of Kentucky, Steve Beshear has unveiled the state’s first-ever comprehensive energy plan, which calls for reducing green?house gas emissions and creating 40,000 jobs tied to energy production and conservation by 2025.The governor wants to increase renewable energy, boost biofuels, develop a coal-to-gas industry and encourage carbon capture/sequestration.In April 2009, the state, University of Kentucky (UK) and University of Louisville (UofL) announced a partnership with Argonne National Laboratory to establish a national Battery Manufacturing Research and Development Center in Central Kentucky. The center’s major goals will include supporting development of a viable U.S. battery manufacturing industry and making it easier for federal labs, universities, manufacturers, suppliers and end-users to collaborate. It also will develop advanced-manufacturing technology to reduce advanced-battery production costs and accelerate the commercialization of technologies developed at national laboratories and universities. The four-year development project allows Kentucky to leverage its abundance of coal while burning fuel cleanly. If approved, the project will take four years to build, create 1,200 construction jobs and 500 long-term jobs, and produce nearly $100 million in regional economic benefits each year. Kentucky NewGas will produce emissions of less than 5 percent of the emissions of a comparably sized traditional coal plant. What can I expect from a 28 day alcohol rehab program?
Hi. I have been drinking heavily for a few years and have detoxed several times (both medically supervised and at home with diazepam). Now I am booked in to a 28 day program in Australia (Vic Addiction Centre.) cos I need that extra help. What can I expect from this as it's pretty scary that no mobile phones allowed, or radios and barely any contact with family etc,,,? Has anyone else done this before?

Building A Dutch Pot Hydroponic System
As far as any hydroponic system goes, the Dutch pot hydroponic system is one of the best. Also known as the "poor man's hydroponics," the Dutch pot is anything but poor. It's inexpensive to make, incredibly efficient in its job, and also lightweight. The following steps will show you how to build a Dutch pot hydroponic system with easy-to-find tools and materials.

1 256GPH Water pump
PVC plastic T-Fittings
PVC plastic elbows
Shut-off valves
Riser
End caps
32 Drippers
50 feet Drip line
50 lbs. Perlite
Drill
Ruler
Pencil
PVC primer
PVC cement
Hole punch
Step 1 - The Beginning Stages
Take measurements of where the system will be built. For our purposes, we will be using a 5-by-8 feet area which will fit 4 rows of 4 10-by-12-by9 inch deep BATO buckets for a total of 16 buckets.
Step 2 - Drainage System
The drain system is important to any hydroponic system because stale water can kill your vegetation. First, line the BATO buckets in rows with 4 buckets per row.
Cut your PVC pipe to the length and width of your hydroponics system and add several inches. Now, cut the PVC pipe to fit the length and width of the inner bucket system.
Remove the BATO buckets and put them off to the side. Drill a 1-inch hole in the bottom of each BATO bucket near the back of the bucket.
Put 2 PVC pipe elbows together to form a "U" shape for each bucket in your system.
Drill a 1-inch hole in the PVC pipes that will be under the buckets. Make sure they line up with the drains.
Connect all of the pipes using T-fittings and PVC elbows, applying PVC primer and PVC cement to seal them.
Return the buckets to their places and place the elbow assemblies in the drain holes and in the holes in the PVC pipes.
Step 3 - Feed System
Now that the drainage system has been built, you will now need to construct a mechanism for feeding your plants.
Place the pump in the reservoir. Attach a 1-foot riser to the output of the pump. Attach a T-fitting to the rider to split the output. One side needs to extend back to the reservoir and the other to the feed-line. Both output lines need to be equipped with shut-off valves.
Place 2 feed-lines between 2 rows of buckets and connect them with a T-fitting and an elbow. Each feed line having an end cap will need to be connected. Next, use the hole punch to make holes in the feed line for each dripper. You need two drippers per bucket. Install the 1/4-inch connectors.
Connect the drip line to the 1/4-inch connector to the dripper.�
Step 4 - Growing
Now that you have all the parts of this system together, you can begin growing hydroponic fruits and vegetables. First, fill the buckets halfway with perlite. Next, plant your seeds. Why would detoxing make me feel so ill?
I overindulged over the christmas period so decided to go on a healthy eating plan this week. This is my third day and already since I've been on it, it has made me feel very ill. This is roughly what I have eaten over the last two days:
Mon:
Porridge, semi skimmed milk, dried fruit
Jacket potato, tuna (no butter or mayo), a banana
(I slipped a bit here and tried one of my child's homemade cupcakes)
Rice and curry made with small amount of paste, tinned tomatoes, peppers, onions, quorn peices, tinned potatoes.
Cherries.
Pear
Mon:
Porridge, semi skimmed milk, dried fruit

...I have also been drinking plenty of water but havn't yet managed to wean myself off the coffee (I have 3-4 cups of this a day).
I felt fine when I wasn't detoxing but now I have stomach cramps, mild diarreah, gas, headaches, I'm tired and have no energy and I'm starting to get a sore throat too.
Any idea what's going on. Is it a coincidence that I'm feeling ill or is it my change of diet. If so will it go away or is there something I should change?
Can I just say in response to some comments that i am not trying to lose weight I am trying to be healthy. This isn't a detox plan. Maybe I've used the wrong wording. I'm just cutting out sugars, salts, and wheat and cutting down on dairy which I know your body has no need for any of these.
Please look at my meal plan, it is not at all dangerous and I am not starving myself

remodeling new toilet/sink in basement, how much does this run in michigan? labor and parts?
I have an idea of putting a toilet and sink in my basement. in my laundry room I have this big corner where I could put a toilet/sink, but there is not a drain, so how much do you think to install drain in floor, running water pipes and etc.? everything is all in the basement pipes, drain, etc, just not where i wanna put it.
