How long will one oxycodone pill stay in your urine?

how long will one oxycodone 10mg stay in your system i took it Wednesday night and have not taken oxycodone in over 8 months prior to taking this one pill.it was 10mg and im not sure if it was instant release or not.

im 6'0 and weigh 175.

i have a drug test tommorow and just want to know if i will pass.

Can i form an addiction to Opiates in general?

I havnt been on one certain kind of opiate for a long period of time (1.5-2 weeks at max) but ive switched around from hydro codone to oxycodone to morphine to hydromorphone...

(I broke both bones in my leg pretty bad and had to get surgery, all are under prescriptions, not abusing, taking as needed but afraid i can develop addiction as is)

can the police come to my door and take me to jail, because i have not gone to drug treatment?

i was in a domestic dispute with my daughter, the juvinile court awarded her to foster care, my drug use was brought up, and i am seeking treatment. however, the policd have come to my door and said if im not in treatment in two days, im going to jail. there has been no court order, i have not disputed custody for my child, so at this point, wouldnt it be volintery for me to go to treatment or not? can the police just come to my door and harasse me like that?

I just ordered a new laptop- was it a good choice?

I was limited to Dell laptops because my grandmother could only pay through her Dell Preferred Account. I personally think Dell should be shut down, but a new Dell laptop is better than a broken laptop.

I chose the Dell Inspiron 15 because it seemed to be the best one in my price range (0-0)

I really wanted a better video card but couldn't afford it =[
So does it look alright?
Dell should be shut down because their computers are basically trash. Maybe some of the expensive ones are alright, but any computer with a starting price under ,000 isn't really worth buying. I've been using Dell laptops and Desktops for years and I've had problems with each one. Not to mention when I call Dell for any assistance I get hung up on and passed around to 50 different people who barely speak english. The laptop I'm currently replacing is a Dell and it's the worst laptop I've ever had experience with. It overheats like crazy, and the fan has been replaced several times. The motherboard, keyboard, and several other things have also needed to be replaced within just a year. The monitor is litterally falling off of the keyboard and I'm surprised it still works. It's just a very poorly made computer and I can't stand it. When they sent a technician to my house to fix my computer, even he said to buy a different brand.
That's why Dell should be put out of business.

Question about a general contractor's waterproofing/basement work?

In 2/ 08, our basement flooded. We didn't have a waterproof system, so everything was torn out. The contractor put in a baseboard, trench, and sump pump (with battery and backup pump). He verbally warranted his work for life and said it would be in writing when he is paid in full.

Last week, the pump stopped working. We called the contractor and a new pump was installed.

Tonight, we went downstairs and there was an inch of water on the floor. We immediately called the contractor. He told us that the pump had failed and went to get a new one. He told us that he had originally installed a 1/3 pump and it couldn't handle the workload. To "hopefully fix it," he installed a 1.5 horsepower pump and said we may need to get a ¾ pump.

My question is: should the contractor be responsible for knowing that a smaller sump pump will not work in a high water area (which HE mentioned)? My furniture and new walls are ruined… what are my options?
He did not say there would be a charge for the pump replacement. Considering his (lack of) work ethic, I would assume he will send a bill.

He did suggest that we go and buy another sump pump so that we have a spare if this happens again.
My final question... sorry this is so long.... Should he be reported?

What is it like to be high on Ecstasy?

I'm curious about the experience--what it feels like.

Just to put things in context, I'm a 23 year-old lady. I smoke cigarettes, drink, smoke marijuana (used to be every day), I've taken magic mushrooms twice and really, really enjoyed them. Is ecstasy a similar high?

Pot And Pop: New Research Finds Stronger Link Between Music And Marijuana Use Among Teens

Teens who frequently listen to music that contains references to marijuana are more likely to use the drug than their counterparts with less exposure to such lyrics, according to a University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine study online now in the journal Addiction.

"Based on an analysis of survey data from 959 ninth-graders, we found that students who listen to music with the most references to marijuana are almost twice as likely to have used the drug than their peers whose musical tastes favor songs less focused on substance use, even after controlling for confounding factors," said Brian Primack, M.D.,Ed.M., M.S., lead author of the study and assistant professor of medicine and pediatrics at Pitt's School of Medicine.

"Interestingly, we also found that exposure to marijuana in music was not associated with other high-risk behaviors, such as excessive alcohol consumption. This suggests that there is a real link between the marijuana lyrics and marijuana use," said Dr. Primack.

To accurately estimate marijuana exposure in music, researchers used an improved process to calculate the exposure, which incorporated student report of music exposure and favorite artists as well as intensive content analysis of the top 794 songs from 2005, 2006 and 2007 based on Billboard Magazine's year-end charts.

Researchers estimated that the average study participant listened to 21.8 hours of music per week and were exposed to an estimated 40 marijuana references in music per day. Twelve percent identified themselves as current marijuana users, with 32 percent identifying themselves as having previously tried the substance. Compared to those who cited a favorite artist with zero songs with cannabis references, students who identified a favorite artist with three or more songs with cannabis references had nearly double the odds of being current cannabis users.

Researchers controlled for such demographic variables as age, race, gender, parental education and school grades in analyzing the data.

"Although it may be that heavy exposure to music about marijuana causes marijuana smoking, it may also be that those who smoke marijuana seek out music with lyrics related to marijuana," noted

Dr. Primack. "In either case, these results may help us develop more effective programs on drug education. For example, media literacy programs may help young people more accurately analyze and evaluate the marijuana-related messages they are likely to hear in popular music."

Co-authors of the study are Erika L. Douglas and Kevin L. Kraemer, both of the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Primack is supported with funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Maurice Falk Foundation.

Why did God create substances which create both pleasure and addiction?

One relatively benign example is coffee. Coffee tastes great to certain people, but if you try to go cold-turkey and quit drinking it, you'll suffer from withdrawal symptoms for days.

Harsher examples are crack cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, morphine. Each of these cause various extremely pleasurable reactions in people, but if they're abruptly discontinued, the user can go through extreme withdrawal.

I can understand God tempting people with sexual pleasures, adrenaline rushes like skydiving, or masturbation, because these have relatively no "strings" attached, you can choose not to have sex or not to masturbate or not to jump out of a plane. However, with addictive drugs, although you can easily choose not to try the drug, once you're in its grip it is for some impossible to extricate themselves.

Why would God create these types of substances, dooming some with addictive tendencies to a life of drug abuse?

Decade Old question: I need a computer, is Mac worth it? lol?

So this is the story, I own a Dell Insperon (not sure of the model) and it recently broke down to such a level that it wont turn on, has a blue screen of death (BSOD), wont allow me to reload Windows Vista, or repair the computer, and has smoke coming out of it. So Being the dipshit that I am, I went and called Dell customer service, and as everyone knows is a pain. The guy was okay, helped me out somewhat but in the end my computer went six feet under.
Now I feel like a fish out of water (again) just like I was a few years ago. So Simply, put I need a new computer. I was looking at the Mac Book Pro 17' Screen and I was pretty pleased with what I saw, its looks cool, has what I want, and I am an owner of an Iphone. Mac owners that I know are pretty pleased, but others I talk to are very negative about it.
My friends recommend I get another Dell, (not happening) toshiba (Maybe) or a Alienware. I looked these up and Alienware is a gaming computer, Ofcourse it does have some of the most advanced drivers and graphic cards.

All I need my computer to do is handle my music and College. I need a computer for Itunes with alot of memory and processor power for the burning, loading etc. that is fast and efficient, long life span, not alot of hassles and has the standard things like Microsoft word, Excel, Power Points, etc.

I customized the Alienware and it came put to about 00 and some change. The Mac costs around 00.

PLEASE HELP ME@@@! lol. I need to figure this out before the holidays.

Positive Signs That Teenagers Increasingly Shun The Most Problematic Drugs, UK

More teenagers in England who need it are receiving help for problems
involving
drug and alcohol use, but fewer have problems severe enough to require
treatment
for addiction, new national statistics reported on Wednesday by the National
Treatment
Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA), show.
The number of teenagers entering treatment for heroin and crack has fallen
by a
third in four years according to the NTA report 'Substance misuse among
young
people - The data for 2008/09'; this echoes the trend already seen in
young
adults (aged 18-24) in drug treatment.
The overall number of under-18s accessing specialist substance misuse
services
in England during 2008/9 was 24,053. This is a modest increase of about
150 over
2007/8, and indicates that demand for such services is levelling out. The
vast
majority of these young people are receiving help for problems associated
with
the misuse of cannabis and/or alcohol, which are treated with structured
counselling. Drug treatment services in England are now widely available
and
anyone who needs help can get it quickly.
Evidence continues to suggest that overall drug and alcohol use among the
general population of young people is declining, and the increasing
availability
of specialist substance misuse services ensures that many more of the
minority
who do need help are getting it.
Reported trends show:
The number of under-18s needing help for problem drug use associated
with
heroin and crack has dropped from 1,081 in 2005/06 to 657 in 2008/09.
The number being helped for cocaine use had increased by more than
half
last year to 806, compared to 453 in 2005/06, and this year fell to 746.
The
primary use of these drugs represents six per cent of the total number of
young
people receiving help in 2008/09.
Cannabis accounted for 12,642 individuals and alcohol 8,799,
accounting for
almost nine out of 10 of all young people receiving support in the year.
Addiction is rare among young people, and an NTA analysis of trends
in
interventions offered to under-18s over the last four years shows a steady
decline in the reported incidence of problems with hard drugs more
commonly
associated with addiction in adults.

Rosanna O'Connor, NTA Director of Delivery, said:

"The pattern of decline echoes a similar generational shift away from
heroin and
crack use among young adults in treatment, which is a further indication
that
the heroin epidemic may have peaked. It would also suggest that young
people are
getting help for substance misuse before their problems become entrenched.

"Most young people receiving substance misuse interventions cannot be
described
as addicts in the same way as adults in treatment. Addiction is normally
the
result of regular, consistent use of substances over time; most under-18s
who
have problems have not pursued drug taking long enough to result in
dependency."
Nearly three quarters of all young people receiving help in 2008/09
received
psychosocial interventions such as counselling, to address the underlying
causes
and behavioural consequences of substance misuse. Over a fifth received a
mix
of psychosocial, family work and harm reduction interventions.

The NTA report is available on the NTA website

updates the broad picture of drug and alcohol misuse in under-18s in
England
established by the publication of the first comprehensive report on the
issue in
January 2009 'Getting to grips with substance misuse among young people.'

This is going to be fun to say the least to figure this one out unless commercial insurers adapt and follow Medicare.� This is especially tricky if Medicare is the second payer.� If you are a specialist, this could be a bit of a hit on the pocketbook.� Medicare is to provide a modifier to help out.� The consultation codes will be recognized but the payment codes will now be marked as not valid for Medicare.�� The modifier to be provided will help determine the difference between an admitting provider and the one overseeing the patient's care, who could be a specialist.� 99241-99245 (outpatient/office) and 99251-99255 (inpatient) are gone for 2010 for Medicare claims.� Office visits may stand to be further expanded possibly.� Anyway, you can read the advice below from this article in Medscape and some additional advice from a related article.� BD�� The announcement that Medicare will no longer pay for consultation codes shocked the medical industry, leaving doctors
worried about their income and perplexed about how to handle the new situation. The change will certainly affect specialists who rely on the payment differentials -- 20 -- between visit and consult codes. To offset the elimination of office consult payments, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will increase the work relative value units (RVUs) for new and established office visits by about 6% and the work RVUs for initial hospital and facility visits by approximately 0.3% to reflect the elimination of the facility consultation codes. In 2010, if you perform a consult in the office, choose an office visit code -- new (99201-99205) or established (99211-99215). In the hospital, the code selection process gets a bit more interesting. Consider that opinions are sought for many hospital patients, and those services have long been coded as consultations. This will change in 2010 for Medicare patients. CMS states that "physicians will bill an initial hospital
care or initial nursing facility care code for their first visit during a patient's admission to the hospital or nursing facility in lieu of the consultation codes these physicians may have previously reported." This will be the case even if someone else admitted the patient. From a coding perspective, admitting a patient could get tricky. CMS will create a new modifier for admitting physicians to append to the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code: The modifier will be used to identify the admitting physician of record for hospital inpatient and nursing facility admissions. "This modifier will distinguish the admitting physician of record who oversees the patient's care from other physicians who may be furnishing specialty care." Failed Termite Inspection?

We are buying a house and yesterday was the termite inspection. All was well until the inspector found some termites outside in a 2x6 piece of wood that had been laying on the ground. He then failed the house, gave the current owner a bill for over 00 and told us the house would have to be treated and the concrete would have to be drilled into before he could pass the house. It sounds fishy to me since there were no termites in/under the house. The house was treated a few years ago and the lifespan of the treatment is 10 years. Do you think this guy was a scam artist?
I just thought I would add that I know it is now the sellers problem, and he knows that it is his responsibility to get a passing termite inspection, I should also add that I live in a part of the country called the East Texas PineyWoods. We are surrounded by woods and therefore termites. It is not uncommon for termites to be in woods near homes. And the house had no termites, it was old wood in the yard.

I have added a bit of text from my post back in June of 2009 below about this service which was a pretty complete go through with what was posted at that time.� You can enroll as either a patient or a doctor to participate.� If enrolling as a physician there will be some stipulations and processes to go through to get set up.� OptumHealth also have their own PHR (personal health records) program and I am guessing this is where the information will eventually be stored.� OptumHealth (Subsidiary of UnitedHealthCare) Teams Up With American Well for 24/7 Physician Consults The service has worked well for patients in Hawaii from what I have read but this is a little different with software with United, as Blue Cross is the system in Hawaii.� What this does do is bring the doctor to the patients and not every visit can be a web cam visit by all means.� The article mentions that in Texas the patient has to already be established with an MD before using this type of service, whic

Why aren't I getting skinny!?

I am so frustrated. Since the beginning of June, I decided to work a lot on my diet. I eat under 2000 calories (mostly low carb food, a little protein here and there and the occasional cookie), I drink TONS of water (at least 2 quarts a day), I work out 4-6 times a week for at least an hour, and yet I still manage to gain weight! I eat small portions and once in a while I'll eat a Lean Cuisine. I get at least 7.5 hours of sleep every night, and on the weekends I get about 4 hours more than that.

My workout regime consists of:
Anywhere from 15-30 minutes on a stationary bike with varying resistance,
10-15 minutes on the elliptical with about 50% resistance
10 minutes of jogging 8 min/mile on the treadmill
30+ minutes on various weight machines doing LIGHT weights or crunch machines, medicine ball crunches, etc. (usually 12-25 lbs depending on the machine)

During the school year I play field hockey and run sprints on the track team... I've always felt pretty disproportionate compared to other girls because I'm short...

What am I doing wrong? Seriously I'm considering a detox diet or something extreme because NOTHING is working and I'm pretty fed up. I know the consequences so please refrain from telling me that it's bad. Thanks.

By eating under 2000 calories I meant an average 1200 a day. 2000 was my limit throughout track season but in the off season its a lot less

Is there a difference between oxycodone and oxycodone HCL?

I have taken Percocet, which is the brand name of oxycodone before...and I know one version contains tylenol, and another doesn't. On the bottle of the one that doesn't it says oxycodone HCL 5mg, while the other bottle says 5mg oxycodone/325mg aceteminiphine (tylenol)...I just want to know if oxycodone HCL is any different than the oxycodone in the combo one?

Violent And Acute Behavioral Disturbance More Common During Full Moon, Australia

Violent and acute behavioural disturbances are more common during the full moon, according to the results of an observational study published in the Medical Journal of Australia.

Ms Leonie Calver, a clinical research nurse in toxicology at the Calvary Mater Newcastle, and her co-authors conducted a study of hospital patients at Calvary Mater Newcastle between August 2008 and July 2009. The researchers examined the cases of 91 patients with violent and acute behavioural disturbance who presented to the emergency department and required sedation and physical restraint to protect themselves and others.

"Of the 91 patients, 21 (23 per cent) presented during the full moon - double the number for other lunar phases. Sixty (66 per cent) were under the influence of alcohol and/or recreational drugs and five attacked staff," Ms Calver said.

"Some of these patients attacked the staff like animals - biting, spitting and scratching. One might compare them with the werewolves of the past, who are said to have also appeared during the full moon.

"It has been reported that the practice of rubbing magic ointment on the skin or inhaling vapour from a magic potion by an alleged werewolf induces metamorphosis. Not surprisingly, the main ingredients of these ointments and potions were belladonna and nightshade - both of which can produce delirium, hallucinations and delusion of bodily metamorphosis.

"The modern day werewolf appears to prefer alcohol, but the metamorphosis is no less dynamic.

"Individuals with violent and acute behavioural disturbance seem more likely to use alcohol or drugs in the light of the full moon. We don't know if it's more fun to use drugs and alcohol under a full moon, or if their behavioural disturbance is directly influenced by the moon."

The researchers also examined the cases of patients in other parts of the hospital with less severe behavioural problems who were the subject of calls from staff to security requesting assistance. These cases were evenly distributed throughout the lunar cycle.

"Our findings support the premise that individuals with violent and acute behavioural disturbance are more likely to present to the emergency department during the phases of the full moon," Ms Calver said.

In The Obesity Epidemic The Role Of Addiction Cannot Be Ignored

The causes of obesity are complex and individual, but it is clear that chronic overeating plays a fundamental role. But when this behaviour becomes compulsive and out of control, it is often classified as "food addiction" - a label that has generated considerable controversy, according to a McMaster University psychiatrist and obesity researcher.

In a commentary appearing in the Dec. 21, 2009, issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), Dr. Valerie Taylor, an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioural neurosciences at McMaster and director of the Bariatric Surgery Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, and her co-authors argue that food addiction in some individuals may be a reality and needs to be considered in the management of weight problems.

"The concept of addiction is complex, and the delineation of its defining characteristics has fostered considerable debate," Taylor and her co-authors write. "Despite a lack of consensus, researchers nevertheless agree that the process involves a compulsive pattern of use, even in the face of negative health and social consequences."

Food addiction can be compared to other addictive behaviours, as both food and drugs can cause tolerance, or an increase in the amount required to achieve intoxication or satiety. Withdrawal symptoms such as mood changes can occur after discontinuing drugs or during dieting. As well, after gastric surgery for obesity, a subset of patients exhibit other addictive behaviours.

"The concept of addiction does not negate the role of free will and personal choice," Taylor and co-authors write. "It may, however, provide insight into why a some individuals with obesity continue to struggle."

The authors conclude that therapies traditionally applied to the area of addiction may be helpful in managing weight problems, which are often viewed through the same lens.

"The current 'blame' mentality that is often applied to individuals with obesity needs to be re-examined," the authors write. "Although medicine may not yet accept compulsive overeating as an addiction, we cannot ignore evidence highlighting the role played by biologic vulnerability and environmental triggers."

How long till oxycontin is out of system?

I have a prescription for oxycontin and my husband takes one every once in a while when he is in severe pain from spine surgery. He is going to be drug tested for a new job. How long does it show up in the urine or how can he make sure it is gone before he is tested in about a week or two? He takes about 3 a week at the most and weights about 210?

Smoking marijuana. Do i have an addiction?

So for the past two weekends now, i'v bought marijuana. This isnt a normal thing. I use to smoke alot back when i was a young teenager. I usually smoke socially now, but since i'v bought the bags [FYI-i bought some because i was in the mood to smoke more than socially.]
I dont usually buy much. Just worth, which is a little bag. And it usually only lasts 2 days.

My boyfriend says im addicted to it because i "cant NOT smoke it"
But i dont think i have an addiction because i dont feel like i HAVE to smoke it. I WANT to smoke it. I enjoy the high. So what.
Does this make me an addict? He says im in denial, but how the f* is it an addiction, if you smoke it because you enjoy it, not because to HAVE to have it?
Am i in the wrong when i say i dont have an addiction?

How do I withdrawal from Oxycodone?

I've been taking 10mg of oxycodone every 4-6 hours for the past 3 months (I had a series of 2 major surgeries in Feb). My doctor says it's ok to stop taking it now - but how do I do it without experiencing withdrawal symptoms? I tried going cold turkey a few days ago and it was terrible!! I was anxious, stressed out, had cold sweats, rapid heart beat and I couldn't sleep at all.

So what should I do? I think I should cut back slowly a bit each day - but how quickly can I do it wouthout having terrible withdrawal symptoms? My goal is to be copletely off the medication in about 6 days (because I'm soo... tired of being constipated all the time). Any tips, suggestions or ideas for how to taper it off is much appreciated.

Government Of Canada Urges Youth To Say 'Not 4 Me' When It Comes To Drugs

The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, unveiled the youth component of Canada's National Anti-Drug Strategy, which aims to educate young people on the dangers of illicit drugs and to turn their backs on drugs.
"Youth between the ages of 13 and 15 are the most likely to try illicit drugs for the first time," said Minister Aglukkaq, speaking with a class of Grade 9 students from Ottawa's Mother Teresa High School. "Our Government's 'Drugs not4me' campaign, which includes a website and TV ad, will help inform our kids that drugs are dangerous and destructive, and put to rest the perception that it is somehow alright to use illicit drugs."
"Our Government is committed to preventing crime and building stronger communities," said the Honourable Peter Van Loan, Minister of Public Safety. "That is why we introduced a Strategy to combat the production and distribution of illegal drugs, and invested in treatment for those with serious drug addictions. Besides an interactive and informative not4me.ca website, the campaign includes advertisements in buses, trains, subways and shopping malls across Canada, as well as Internet banners on websites popular with teens. The television commercial, which will be launched on December 28, will also be aired in movie theatres across the country in March.
"Our Government is committed to working with our partners to ensure our kids are equipped with coping and refusal skills to support their decision to refrain from experimenting with illicit drugs," said Minister Aglukkaq. "There are many health risks and social consequences from using illicit drugs. You have the power to make your own decisions."
"The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse remains concerned about the use of illicit drugs by Canada's youth and supports the efforts of the not4me campaign," said Michel Perron, Co-Chair of the National Drug Prevention Advisory Committee and CEO of the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. "This campaign provides an innovative platform through which young people are provided with the right information to make informed healthy choices."
The National Anti-Drug Strategy was launched by Prime Minister Stephen Harper on October 4, 2007. The Strategy is a collaborative effort involving the Department of Justice, Public Safety Canada and Health Canada and includes three action plans: preventing illicit drug use; treating those with illicit drug dependencies; and combating the production and distribution of illicit drugs. How do I get rid of termites from a garden bed?

I have a garden bed elevated surrounded by bricks. It has been infested with termites for some years now. Last year, I put down termite pellets and sprayed poison on the places where they mostly were. It didn't solve the problem and they ate and destroyed a rosebush. There are many "treatments" for termites in the garden store, but which one is best and what is the best meathod to eliminate them from my garden and from ever coming back?
