We recently moved into an older rental home that has 2 different heating systems: the first is a wood stove that is in the garage. It is enclosed and has duct work that goes to the other end of the house, with 2 vents in the home. The second heating system is radiant floor heat, that is heated by gas. I called the gas company and found out that the last people who lived here had a gas bill of 0 in the winter. Next problem is that we also have a second story, where the kids rooms are. There is no heat source in one room and the wood stove duct goes into the other room.
We dont have a lot of money to spend on buying wood, plus I am nervous to spend a lot of money on wood and then still have a huge gas bill. Would it be better to just buy some space heaters? Just wondering what people who know more about this would suggest?
Also, please dont ask why we moved in here in the first place... that is a whole different story.... Thanks! :-)
