All About Baby High Chairs

You are offered various types of baby high chairs for babies today.Though these high chairs come with various features, there are quite a few points to bear in mind before you buy one.The first thing to do is to decide when to buy the high chair.Parents usually invest in one when the baby starts eating solid food. However some people who breast feed the baby introduce them to high chairs earlier so that the baby can join the family at dinnertime. It is better to look for a safe high chair for a baby instead of attractive ones with bells and whistles. You can find out how well the chair will stand up to your baby's wriggling and tantrums by giving it a good shake.Chairs that tip over are not safe.A low center of gravity and wide base are signs of stability in the high chairIf you tend to move your baby while feeding, wheels will be an added advantage. However make sure the wheels have strong locks to prevent accidents.Make sure the folding mechanism of a folding high chair works
well, and doesn't fold when in use if you prefer folding chairs.Height adjustment is a feature required in high chairs you intend to use for some time. You can use chairs with recline features for toddlers who tend to fall asleep immediately after eating. The straps and belts of the high chair should be strong and washable, preferably with a crotch strap that goes over the baby's hips.Chairs with a molded plastic post in between the baby's legs are more safe. The baby is thus prevented from slipping under the tray.Chairs with loops should be avoided as babies can easily fall through them.Make sure there are no sharp edges on the high chair, and that its cushions are made of durable, thick fabric.Remember that these high chairs tend to get grimy quickly and thus should be easy to wash.
