How to deal with methadone patients?

I just started in a pharmacy and they do needle exhange and methadone, i find myself being a bit stand offish and feel uncomfortable. some of them are quite rude?
how would u deal with them or do?

  1. I would suggest their rudeness is a product of your being "stand offish." These are people like all others and deserve the SAME treatment and respect. I am confident you would find your perceived problem to be non-existent if you were to do so. Addicts come from ALL walks of life, as do patients with other chronic conditions. You've no right to judge them, as your attitude would indicate. "But for the grace of God..." is a good place to begin.
