Waterproofing a block and brick basement?

I'm set up to waterproof my basement: have the Drylock waterproof paint, patch, cleaned walls, etc. I'm in an old house and the trough/sump pump system the previous owner put in isn't taking care of the major problem which is water seeping in through the walls (or gushing depending on the heaviness of the rain). The walls are brick from the floor to about half way and then concrete blocks from that point up to the top of the basement wall. Everything I've read has deal with basements that are just block walls rather than brick or a combination. Anything I need to be on the look out for, or anything special I need to do?
