what happens when you stop doing ecstasy?

one of my friends had been taking ecstasy for about 3 weeks now everyday, once or twice. she stopped today and had a lot of mood swings where she was happy then sad then angry and so many changes. She would twitch and shiver. it stopped for for about 4 hours then it came back but lasted for half an hour. i really want to know how long it'll take for her to become herself again. What are the side effects also and how can i help?
