What is the best way to slowly come off 2mg ativan at bedtime for almost 2 years?

I want to come off of it slowly. My prev dr did not do it slowly enough the last time and I had a 6.5 min Grand Mal Seizure with full convulsions, and continuing neck problems. I dont see that dr anymore. Im wondering what the best gradual step down would be. again it is at bed time, two 1mg tabs. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond, i will read and weigh all the options, risks and so on.
