what long term effects would ecstasy have on a once per month user?

I'm thinking of trying ecstasy, i would not do it more than once a month, if even that. would i still get holes burnt in my brain if i for instance used ecstasy once a month for say... a year?...and yes i know it can be an addictive drug, but lets say this user for instance only did it once a month.
