Does history of termites affect property value?

I am considering buying a home in the boston area. It's great house and good price except one of the seller's disclosures reads that termites were found in a small section of the garage in 1979. Treatment was done and inspections for a few years following 1979 revealed no further presence of termites.
How does this affect the value of the property, especially when it is my turn to sell it after a few years?
Thanks to all that have answered so far. I just wanted to add that the damaged piece of garage door frame was removed and replaced. The last inspection was done 10 years ago and no termites were found at that time.
